Photos from the month View April 2026
Oh hello! Chris Glass here, person from Cincinnati that designs things, snaps photos, and attempts not to be a bother.
You likely signed up for this newsletter years ago and forgot about it. I guess I did too. Feel free to unsubscribe if this comes as a surprise. Again, I don’t want to be a bother!
I’ve been wanting to send out notes for a handful of reasons:
I don’t post on social media very often.
I post too much on my personal site (which can be overwhelming).
I wanted to reflect, share some important bits and frankly? Say hello. I feel like we’re in dire need of more connecting. 👋
Highlights of April:
A visit to Minneapolis - My first proper visit to Minnesota was quick but jam packed. I was enamored with the city and hope to get back. (Bucket list item: Visiting Prince’s Paisley Park.)
A new Make It Space - We helped open the doors to this creative space in Cincinnati’s Northside neighborhood. We’re thrilled our press from Wire & Twine has found a new and most excellent home. (They’re selling our Here To Make Friends t-shirt to kick things off and raise funds! Pre-orders close May 8th.)
A hard part of the month:
Edie has been sick - It’s taken some time to diagnose what ails our moody, chonky cat, but it was determined she has a spot of cancer in her nasal passage. She was not happy about it, but made it through treatments. Now we wait to see how effective it was. I’m just happy to have some extra time with her and am reminded to love a little extra.
A timely outtake: It’s rhubarb season
This snapshot that didn’t make the cut, but I continue to think about the strawberry rhubarb pie from Servatii Bakery. Looking forward to more rhubarb this May.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.”
A bunch of links from the month
Lastly, here’s some links I posted throughout April. All of this inspired by Jasper Tandy’s monthly summaries.

Save the US Forest Service
Combined with the shuttering and selling off of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, the announcement of the gutting of the Forest Service is a five alarm / red alert atrocity.
The AI Great Leap Forward
Han Lee's essay compares China's industrialization campaign to our current AI-ification of business. It's a tech dense piece — I don't even understand all the lingo — but I understand the notions, and they're stuck in my craw.
Will Hollingsworth on the proposed datacenter in Ohio
This 5 minute video is absolutely worth a watch to understand what's on the line with datacenter expansions.
Photo sharing
So many folks sharing photos in different ways on their personal sites. Here's some recent snapshots that are lovely to peruse: Rachel, Naz and Robin Spielman recently added photo sections to their main navs, Simon Collison collected journal entries from a Japan trip, Anh shared The Bay Area, in photos, Ty Finck kicked off a 365 project, and Marcin Wichary's Fav tech museums is chock full of goodness.

Favorite music video of the month. It’s long and starts off heavy, but stick with it for some gorgeous choreography:
That’s a wrap!
See you next month? Or not, seriously, feel free to unsubscribe. I totally get being overwhelmed by email newsletters.
